When Nothing Is Sure Mixed Media Card

Hey Oddballs!  EK here to share a Tips and Tutorial Video!

I pulled out IMG328 Madhatter for today's project and decided to show you how I would not only color up this card with my Prismacolor colored pencils, but how I go about making a mixed media card as well.

To check out how I made the card today, by clicking the link below.

*********************************

I am enjoying the wonky bubbles on the side of the images...seems very Alice to me.

I'm loving the sentiment I picked for this card, since when it comes to the Hatter, nothing is sure and everything is possible.

I don't normally play with layers like this, but I had so much fun adding the embellishments, that I am going to have to start using layers more.

Thanks for checking in today, and if you create any mixed media cards featuring Oddball Art, make sure you share it over on the Facebook Page.

What Seems Ordinary Art Journal Page

Hi Oddballs.  EK here from ekgorman designs sneaking in today to share a pictorial tutorial of an Art Journal Page I made using the super cute IMG313 Suns with and without faces.

I started by printing out the five suns without faces onto some cardstock and pulled my 5x7 Dylusions Art Journal out.

Then I added a quick touch of blended Dylusions paint over the suns.  I used Squeezed Orange, Postbox Red, and Bubblegum Pink.

I fussy cut out the suns.

I then blended the same three colors onto the pages of my journal.

Using a make shift stencil, I added some orange paint through it.  I am pretty sure there was some old ink on the stencil, so the color came through not quite as pure, but I ended up liking the look.

I did the same with the red paint and a star stencil.

The same happened with the pink and a square stencil.

Using my finger, I smudged some heavy body burnt umber paint onto the bottom of the page.

Using some Matte Medium, I added the suns onto the journal pages.  I then added another layer of matte medium over the entire journal pages and let it dry.

Using a Permanent Green Olive Pitt Big Brush Pen, I drew in flower stems and leaves.

I added detail to the red flowers with the Deep Scarlet Red Pitt Big Brush Pen.

The pink flowers got some detail work with the Magenta Pitt Big Brush Pen.

The orange flower got a touch of Scarlet Red Pitt Big Brush Pen.

Using my white gel pen, I added some detail work to the stems, flowers, and base of the art journal page.

I then outlined the flowers with a dash and dot pattern with the gel pen.

Using another stencil, I traced the square pattern around the edges of the journal page with my black .5 pen on first one page...

...then the other.

I mixed up some fluid white acrylic paint with some water...

...and splattered white paint all over the journal pages.

Finally, I added a sentiment from a Tim Holtz sentiment sticker pack.
