My project today features this January's premium digital stamp, which really is a twofer, since these adorable digis can be separated or used together.

I created a video sharing how I colored up this stamps and assembled the card.  To watch the video in HD, click here.

The really funny thing about this card for me, is when I finished it (literally weeks ago), I did not like it.  But now...it has strangely grown on me.  There is just something about the whole thing that works...maybe it is just the sticker sentiment that does it for me, since I too am frequently irreverent.

Make sure to pop over to the Oddball Store today and check out all the benefits of becoming a subscriber.  Need a new digital stamp like right now...well feel free to use my code DTEK10 to get 10% off your next purchase!

Whimsical Big Eye Melody the Mermaid Image No. 321 By Sabrina

hello friends of OddBall Art, I'm Sabrina and today I'm here to keep you company with my art journal ... my first post for OddBall Art, I'm so excited !!!

To create my Art Journal page I printed Whimsical Big Eye Melody the Mermaid Image No. 321 and colored with Prismacolor

On the pages of my Art Journal I laid out the plaster and, once dried, the fabulous Nuvo mousse, are fantasitche to create the backgrounds!

With the help of a stencil I spread and created thickness with Nuvo Glimmers ... glittered and create a fabulous thickness !!

I waited for the Nuvo Glimmer to be dry and I crizzed the bubbles with the transparent Nuvo Crystal Drops and I glued the fabulous Whimsical Big Eye Melody the Mermaid Image No. 321

Finally I cut out a sentiment with my Silhouette Cameo and I inserted it in my pages of Art Journal ... also some white dots created with Nuvo Crystal Drops and my pages are decorated!

Adorable, right? Find Whimsical Big Eye Melody the Mermaid Image No. 321 in the OddBall Art shop and more details about the products used on my blog Sabrina Lamarina Card Maker !

Today I am using my new colored pencils to really make this image pop out on some dark cardstock.

To help everyone see how I this process of coloring on dark cardstock works, I went ahead and whipped up a little video sharing my coloring techniques.  To pop over to my channel and see the video in HD, click here.

Thanks for popping in today and checking out my project.  Make sure if you play around with some dark cardstock that you share your projects with Lizzy and the team over on the Facebook!

Happiness is...

Hey Oddballs!  It's EK from ekgorman designs, sneaking in today to share a little CAS card I created using my favorite colored pencils.

Today I am playing around with IMG19 Camper Girl Cassidy from the Big Eyed girl collection.

For today's project I pulled out, like I said my favorite colored pencil set, the Derwent Drawing pencils.  Now I own some five different brand of colored pencils, but despite its limited color range, these are my favorite.  These colors are really soft and in a wide range of natural and sepia tones.  Needless to say, their limited color range is perfect for a clean and simple card.

I additionally added a fun sentiment added in some denim blue ink, to add to the sweet mischief look on Cassidy's face.  The card got adhered onto a Kraft A2 card frame.

Do you play around with different brands of colored pencils?  What is your favorite?  And what Oddball digital stamp is your favorite to color with your pencils?

Needing a new digi, then feel free to use the code DTEK10 to get 10% off you next purchase!

Be Original

Hey Oddballs!  It's EK from ekgorman designs and I am slipping in today with a card I colored using some creative coloring.

Today I am playing around with the Oddball digital art IMG185 Batzilla and my color wheel to create a truly colorful card.

Not only did I pull out my copic markers today, but I pulled my pocket color wheel.  I wanted to play around with the skin tone on Batzilla, and venture into something a little different and fun.  Using my color wheel I decided on using a Tetrad of color, or four colors even spaced out.  I decided that violet skin might be fun, so jumped off with that color.  Lining up my wheel, I discovered the three other colors, red (which turned out too orange), yellow and green, would compliment everything.

The background got a couple more colors to fill in the blank space and give the card a bit of visual interest.  Also the card got a Tim Holtz sticker sentiment to finish off the card.

I am just loving all the color on my project today.  Do you ever use a color wheel to help come up with the color scheme of your project?  Make sure you share your projects over on the Oddball Art Facebook Gallery.

Happiness Depends on Yourself

Hi Oddballs!  It's EK here today to share a little bit of my current Oddball project.

Today I am playing around in my art journal along with the digital stamp IMG9 Wanda.

I went with a black and white theme when coloring the digital image in with my copic markers.  Then I fussy cut out the image so I could add it to my art journal.

For more on how I created the art journal page, hope on over to my page ekgorman designs for more details.

Want to create your own Art Journal Page and need a new image, feel free to use my discount DTEK10 to get 10% off your purchase!

It´s Technique Time: Soap Bubble

Hello Oddballs

Tina: It´s technique time...
Today I would like to show you, as you can easily create a background.

The technique is called
"Soap Bubble Technique"

And here comes the photo tutorial

1.

You need

*Disposable gloves
*Drinking straws
*Something to stir
*Not too high containers
*Acrylic paints of your choice
*Dish Soap

2.
Now you put some dish soap in your bowl...

3.
and add a little color to it ...
mix it

4.
Now use the drinking straw carefully,
until there are so many bubbles that protrude beyond the edge.
If it does not make enough bubbles ...
the mixture simply with the ingredients still expand.

5.
Now take a white piece of Cardstock and
place it gently over the bubbles.
Then lift the paper off immediately.

6.
The result should look something like this ...
The process a few times in different places
repeat on the paper!

7.
Now you can repeat everything with one or two other colors,
until you like the background.

And now everything has to dry well ... about 2-3 hrs.
Do not dab with a cloth over it . it ruins the soap bubbles!

In the meantime you can edit the motif or
prepare the design of your card.

Here is my finish card
I used for this Easter card the image

I colored with Touch Twin Markers

Can you see
how beautiful the soap bubbles look in the background?

I would be very happy,
if you use this technique for your next work and
took part in our Challenge in the Oddball Facebook Group.

See you soon...

Tina
