Hair Gel Card Video Tutorial with Molly the Mermaid & Fishies

Hello Oddballs

It´s me, Tina: Today I have again created a Hair Gel Card. And if you scroll down you will also find a video tutorial this time. I used this images Molly the Mischievous Mermaid #319 and Fishies #410.

Here I chose a bottle for the neckline,
because the mermaid wants to travel by bottle mail into space.
And she also has 3 sweet companions; her goldfishes.

The background is created with Distress Oxide and I
colored the images with Polychromos.

And this is how the card looks inside ...

Be Original

Hey Oddballs!  It's EK from ekgorman designs and I am slipping in today with a card I colored using some creative coloring.

Today I am playing around with the Oddball digital art IMG185 Batzilla and my color wheel to create a truly colorful card.

Not only did I pull out my copic markers today, but I pulled my pocket color wheel.  I wanted to play around with the skin tone on Batzilla, and venture into something a little different and fun.  Using my color wheel I decided on using a Tetrad of color, or four colors even spaced out.  I decided that violet skin might be fun, so jumped off with that color.  Lining up my wheel, I discovered the three other colors, red (which turned out too orange), yellow and green, would compliment everything.

The background got a couple more colors to fill in the blank space and give the card a bit of visual interest.  Also the card got a Tim Holtz sticker sentiment to finish off the card.

I am just loving all the color on my project today.  Do you ever use a color wheel to help come up with the color scheme of your project?  Make sure you share your projects over on the Oddball Art Facebook Gallery.

Gel Press Journal

Hey Oddball Creatives! Alexa here!

Today's project is a fun one because it not only uses Alice the Artist stamp found here, but also the perfect grungy purple background created with my gel press!

I created a journal using a bunch of gel press prints & now I have the perfect started backgrounds for art journaling at the ready! Whether it's using a gel press, stenciling and stamping, or just slapping some paint down, you can create a whole set of backgrounds in 1 sitting & then have a start each time you sit down....and even better, no staring at the blank page!

Don't forget to use code "DTALEXA10" in the shop on any digital stamps to receive 10% off!
