Boo!

Hello I am very happy to be here on the Oddball blog today as I am sharing one of my first Halloween cards. Now I must admit I am staring out easy here using this adorable Members exclusive Dog Days of Summer. However as time goes on and and Halloween nears things will get creepier and creepier! But for now we will focus on this sweet dog and his friend who I like to refer to as Doris the spider! As far as I can tell in this scene poor Doris got the fright when she was making her way down her spider web and our adorable dog simply said BOO!

To create this card I blended Ink On 3 fusion Inks My Jam Purple, Peacock Blue, Marilyn Red, Distress Ink Black Soot and Picket Fence. The stars where created with a stencil. I colored using my alcohol markers and pencils. I had the stickers in my stash.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you found some inspiration to get your Halloween cards started!

What's Inside?

For this inspirational make I have used  Creepy Cute Kiss my Sass Woodland Critters

I started by making the front cover by adding a paper and then the sentiment, die cut with a scalloped circle. I added a touch of colour with Copics and Wild Honey Distress Oxide.

Then I moved to the inside... I added another page from the paper set, cutting out elements from another print and adding them on dimensionals...

Next I coloured the images from IMG499 with Copics and cut them out. I wanted them to pop up as the card was opened. I placed another layer of paper on the base and then made stands for each critter and the skulls from the paper.

The stands are basically strips of 3cm wide card  scored at 2cm at one end so that this flap can be adhered to the back wall. These are placed in position with wet glue and then the card folded up to make sure they sit correctly.

At the other end the strips are scores at 1 cm and 3 cm - making a fold down flap, the 1 cm end piece is adhered flat to the base. Wet glue is just added to the one cm area, the strips folded at the 3cm and laid flat, then the card closed up again. This should ensure that the card back will be at rightangles and that the card will close flat. I saw this method on this you tube video here

I made the strips of different lengths so that the critters were spaced out across the base and also such that when the animals were placed on the tabs and the card folded flat they would be hidden. So the final task was to add the critters. But just as an additional touch I added another spider...

I have a dream!

 B30761B0-A1C2-4E5D-853C-1C85F40C26A1

Hello there Oddballs!

I am here today to share a project using today’s new Creepy Cute Chronicles  image. This image is CCC#120 and it’s called “I have a dream”. This is yet another adorable image that combines the creepy and super cute!

Today I created a slimline card. It is simple but here are the steps to make your own 😊

1. I used a 3.5”x 8.5 Bristol smooth panel to create my background.

2. Using distress oxide inks I blended wilted violet, faded jeans, chipped sapphire and black sooth to create the night sky.

3. Once I was happy with the look I used copic sketch paint to splatter Toni “stars” and painted a moon with a paintbrush. Adding a little bit of sparkle with stardust pen.

4. I mounted the panel on a 3-3/4”x 8-1/2” card base.

5. to create my scene I used the CCC images from the shop..The cloud is from last week’s CCC issue and a kitty from a previous issue.

6. To add a bit of interest I used foam tape to mount the sentiment and decided to prop the moon to be able to swing back and forth (too adorable of you ask me).

7. Finally I added foam tape to the top of the cat and glued the bottom... again creating more interest on the card.

Hope you enjoyed this quick card tutorial and don’t forget to head over to the Oddball Stamps store to download this image and find all others. Perfect time to become a Premium Member and enjoy all these awesome images.

Happy Friday and see you back soon!

I decided to make some tags this week but first a tag holder for my journal...

Step One

This is a piece of 12 by 12 folded into quarters with corners folded down, glued and stitched with my sewing machine.
I added a strip of washi and stuck the whole of the back down, making 3 pockets.

Step Two

I then added some tags - the surprise is what is on the back...these tags all started as scraps from the same 12 by 12 paper (Today from Webster's Pages)

Step Three

Tag 1 - the title and a heart printed on kraft with a little colour from brush pens and gathered twigs Distress Ink, placed on a scrap of text paper (Tim Holtz 8 by 8 Collage papers), torn and distressed. Finally a scrap of orange ribbon.
Attached with a small clip.

Step Four.

Tag 2 - Lizzy's poem. Same techniques. Tucked into the back pocket.

Step Five.

Tag 3 - pooch silhouette. Same techniques. Tucked into middle pocket.

Step Six.

Tag 3 - pooch printed on craft with a little extra colour. Same techniques. Tucked into front pocket.

Happy Crafting!!

Alice in Wonderland (Mini Álbum - Pg 3)

Hi!

One more month I come to show you the result of the next page of the mini album "Creepy Alicia"

On this page, the theme is the Mad Hatter's crazy tea party. Of course it had to be full of characters and in a perfect setting for the occasion.

For this I have used a lot of stamps that have been part of the Creepy Cute Chronicles and that now you can only acquire as a Premium member and many others that are available in the Oddball store. To complete, I have also used a digital stamp of the own brand of a DT colleague.

This is the list of stamps that I have used:

The mug with the skull: CCC 35

The mummy drinking coffee: CCC 46 Café Mummy

For the stage: CCC 57 Pet Semantary

Ghost Mug: CCC 69 Coffee Hex Stamp (by Eny Dunn)

Banners, Garlands, Sentiment and Party Ghost: CCC 100 Celebrate

Heart and roses cake: CCC 109 Birthday cake

Alice: #324 Whimsicale Big Eye Alice In Wonderland

MadHatter: #328 Whimsicale Big Eye Alice in Wonderland Stamp.Madhatter

Smore vampire: #495 Creepy Cute Smores Digi Collage Sheet

Bat eating Watermelon: Exclusive July 2020 Summer Daze

Finally, I also used the “Azalea Tee Cup stamp” from the Doodle Daisy and Ink brand of my partner Eny Dunn.

To place all the cups, I made a table out of a simple piece of brown cardboard to which I inked the edges to give depth and glued some strips as legs.

It took time to do it, due to the amount of stamps that I had to color and cut by hand, but the assembly is simple as you can see

I hope you like it and encourage you to make your own montages and especially that you show them on the networks with the hashtag #creepycutechronicles. And if you are missing some stamps, you can buy them using the discount code DTIRENE10.

Remember that Oddball Art Stamps has a challenge again. To follow it, enter the web and go to the Community tab. From there you can request access and enter to participate. The hashtag for the current challenge is #cccdogdays

Today I have a quick and easy tutorial on an art journal page, I am using my Dylusions journal, which has been begging to be used 😊.

1. I printed my images and was eager to color them so I went straight for it before I realized my camera was not filming  anyway, I used Copic markers in different shades . I then fussy cut them out and set aside.

10406E21-BED9-40ED-B662-051A72E55CCA

2. I started with a blank spread. Since I was creating a simple background I chose not to prime my page first. And then added  a brick background using a stencil and distress ink.

F05FE4F2-9A3F-431D-AB36-15985A120EA0BC7E74EB-727D-44A3-9436-990D8DFDDE62

3. Once I was happy with how the page looked I found a place for my images. I am using the Premium version of this issue along with previous Creepy Cute Chronicles images.  I love all the extra options that Lizzy includes with it.  And this time it even has a poem! I love it so much, hence why I decided on an art journal page this time.

B9341172-6E7A-4037-B66B-01FBE8896745

4. OnceI glued the poem I added a bit of detail with an ink blender to make it fit the page. I then glued my images down where I wanted them. (I told you this was a simple page spread, lol 😊). As a final little detail I added “shadows” coming from my dog and little girl. Since I wanted them to be the focus of the page.

5F701F3A-7E32-4DFA-B12E-1311A26FB072

And that’s my art journal page for the day, hope you all enjoyed it and try to make your own. And remember you can get this pooch image FREE when you sign up for the Creepy Cute Chronicles.you can find previous releases images m. Also don’t forget to go to the Creepy Cute Chronicles Store to get any of the other images I used here.
