Creepy Cute

Have you Played yet with the January "Feature a Creature" challenge yet?  If you haven't you still have a little time, but only a little.  The Challenge closes tomorrow, so get cracking on you Feature a Creature Designs.

Also, if you played once, but are feeling super creative, play again, because you can play up to 3 times each month!

I made another card, featuring this time one of the new digis in the shop Creepy Cute and Whimsical Creature.

Considering this month's theme, I figured it would only be fitting to create a card using a spot light to feature this cute little creature.  So I pulled out my copics and went a little crazy coloring this one layered card.

To finish the card, I pulled out Tim Holtz "Small Talk" sentiment stickers and added one to the bottom of the card!

I can't wait to see who wins this month's challenge.  There really are so many amazing projects.  Now just make certain one of them is yours!

The Cat Lady

Hello Oddball´s

Its me again; Tina: There is today an image for the cat friends among you. This ist "Cat Lady" #424
This time around, I once again dug out my watercolor pencils from Faber Castell and I colored the cat Lady with it.

For the background, I've tested something and lubricated around on a glittering gold hologram cardboard with wood glue and liquid Distress Oxide colors. And the paw prints and scratches I cut with the plotter out from vinyl foil.

See you soon...

Tina

Art Crayon Art Journal

Hey hey! Design Team member Alexa here!
Today I'm bringing you a fun art journal page featuring this gorgeous set of stamps & Marabu Art Crayons.

You can hop on over to my blog & check out a video tutorial/ product play & learn a bit more about Art Crayons, Pastels & Gelatos too!

For this project, I simply prepped a mixed media (heavier weight paper) art journal page with some Gesso. I then took over my art crayons and paintbrush & created a fun wash of color on the background & then added some scraps of paper.

I also used my art crayons to color the feathers:

Next I painted in my dreamcatcher & added some text & voila! A beautiful art journal page!

Hope you enjoyed this fun project! Go grab some art crayons & stamps from the Oddball Art Shop & get creating! Don't forget to use code "DTALEXA10" for 10% off your purchase!

January ATC Swap - Theme "Feature a Creature"

Well Oddballs, here we are again, another first for me - an ATC swap.  To be perfectly honest, I have not had any experience with these at all.  I had seen references to ATCs on Facebook over the years, but basically thought it was an American thing, you know like collecting baseball cards years ago like you see on the movies.  I know the craze of baseball cards has now advanced to Pokémon etc etc, but who would have thought Aussie Gail would have got into this, at 63 years old as well.  My first experience thanks to Oddball, and I think I am hooked, another papercraft I have to try and add into my day, less housework, but just think of the therapy benefits!  Here is my first attempt

There is room for improvement and I think it will be a while before I venture into mixed media backgrounds on such a small area, but hey, the DT girls are widening my horizons, you knows.

The images I have used for my ATCs are available in the Etsy Shop https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/OddballArtCo?ref=l2-shopheader-name
The images are #413, #417 and #418.  Oh nearly forgot, it you use my code DTGAIL10, it will allow you to get 10% off your order in the Etsy shop.

For more details, check out my blog https://hutcho53.blogspot.com/2018/01/oddball-art-co-atc-swap-january-2018.html.  Thanks for stopping by Oddballs, see you at the ATC January swap!

Fairy Magic!

Hey everybody! Alexa here to bring you another fun project! Did you know digital stamps are the perfect starring point for inspiration for artwork?! I started this project with this Happy Holly image from Oddball Art Shop . So super cute! And super sweet too! I immediately thought of my little kiddos & what a great message this is for kids & the fairy is just perfect for some nursery art. So I got to painting & here's what I created just using this stamp as inspiration

You can also head to my blog to see a video of my planning & thought process on this piece. Also some lil tips like what you can do when you run out of mod podge but reeeeeally want to make something!

Here's some close ups of this piece for you too!

Kawaii Panda Bears

Hi Oddballs - Angie here with another Inspiration Post for our Blog Challenge (Always Anything Goes with an Optional Theme - this month's being Feature a Creature).

I have used Kawaii Panda Bears IMG316 again.

Oh My !!!!! How uber cute are these guys!

I actually didn't colour these guys at all, left them entirely black and white but used my Oxide Distress Inks, water spray and some stamps to create the some funky backgrounds.
Would you believe I spent more time on google looking for some great sayings to add to them!

I hope you like them - I think they make great Positive Affirmation ATC's.
And speaking of ATC's - did you see we have started a Monthly swap and these are just perfect with the same theme as our Blog Challenge!

EK's ATC Swap

Hey everyone!  EK here to share a post that really took me out of my comfort zone.

Anyone else feeling a little nervous about the new ATC Swap (Artist Trading Card Swap) happening over in the Facebook group?  Me too.

I have tried ATCs in the past, and it just hasn't ever been an something that I was happy doing.  So needless to say, joining in with the swap, has made me really nervous.  But I am also not the kind of girl who doesn't try.  So this past week I sat down with a couple of Oddball Art Digital Stamps and tried again with these strange little things called ATC.

I ended up doing two ATCs.  The first features digi #233, Big Eyed Baxter, who is sort of a creature right...he's a cat, not a human, so I am calling this project fulfilled!

The second ATC features the digi #34, Big Eyed Zombie Sheep.  And I learned this week, for me, the key to ATCs is keeping it simple and that less is more.

For more on these ATCs, check out my page here at ekgorman designs, so see the handful of products I used.

I can not wait till the 25th when I get to send these out to their new homes.  I never really thought I would be excited about this, but guess what...I am.  And I am even more excited to get my new ATCs from one of you.

Don't let your fear or nerves stand of your way to trying something new.  You might just love what you do.

Flip Album Tutorial

Hello Oddball´s

It´s me... Tina
This time I've created a tutorial for a little flip album.
In it I want to collect some of my favorite pictures of Oddball.
Not only many photos; also 3 videos where you can see
how I colorize and see the finished album.

Have fun reworking and watching.

Tutorial

1.) 2 pieces  12x12cm and 1 piece 12 x 5cm!

Here is my SnapPap in kraft colors. I cut it first,
then I wet it a little and press it very tight so that it crumples.
Once dried, you can continue working on it. I inked it with ink sprays and stamped
inks and stamped some circles on it and wiped it with Distress Micro Glaze.
So it is protected and gets a nice light shine.

Now connect the 3 parts for the album like that.

Here I have the SnapPap glued to the outside and fixed with clothespins until it is dried.

That's how it looks finished. I have also a leather strap for to close attached.

Cutting edge 4 retaining tabs in these sizes:
7 x 11,5cm - fold at 1,5cm and 5,5cm
6 x 11,5cm - fold at 1,5 and 4,5cm
5 x 11,5cm - fold at 1,5 and 3,5cm
4 x 11,5cm - fold at 1,5 and 2,5cm

Then cut off all corners diagonally

Now glue all parts evenly distributed on each other

Now we cut 8 x piece of cardstock or design paper in size:
24cm x 11,5cm. This you have to fold at 11,5 and 23 cm.

Now stick the pockets in the album. To do this, put the bag on the holder and
glue it on one side only.

I have the bags still embossed and attached a  decoration.
This makes them easier to pull out and open later.

Videos

The finished Album

Thank you for watching my videos ...

See ypu soon...

Tina
