Bummed Out Bear Card Tutorial

Hey friends, Chris here!

I'm returning this week with a quick tutorial for you using this weeks Creepy Cute Chronicles newsletter premium image (Bummed Out Bear) and Dehlia Fairy image #70 from the Oddball Stamps store.

First I applied a base of copic marker to the images.

For the bear I used light cream and the fairy white skin by Master Arts

Next I used colored Derwent pencils (skin tone) to deepen the color and add depth to the fairy and added Prisma premium color pencils to the bear

FOR THE CARD BASE
I used a 8.5 x 11 and trimmed it to 6 x 11
then scored it in 4 places at
1.5",  3",  5.5"  &  8"

I used the Oddball Digi Paper “Dots & Doodles” for the panels cut to the following sizes
small 1.25" x 6" medium 2 .25" x 6" and the large 2.75" x 6"

I chose Dots & Doodles  paper in letter size to make my colored images pop!

Dots & Doodles digi paper is also available in size 12" x 12"

Each of the smaller panels got a balloon, which are just two of the 17 images included in the premium collection.

The final panel displays Dehlia Fairy image #70 and Bummed Out Bear.

This is what it looks like all closed up.

How to Make Your Own Anti-Static Bag

We've all been there, whether its the embossing powder that sticks to the ink AND everywhere else or the shaker card window that acts more like a magnet then a piece of acetate.

It's enough to drive the common crafter mad!

Well, no more....

Yes I could buy one from Michaels or order online but living an hours drive from the city and being in need of this thing in the moment, neither of these options were practical. So I did a bit of research and as it turns out its super easy to make and as far as the cost goes, for about half the cost of one of these bags on Amazon,  I can make about a hundred of them. lol  So here's what your going to need....

CRAFTING ANTI-STATIC BAG TUTORIAL

SUPPLIES

Cut of cotton fabric 6" x 3"
Thread or permanent double sided tape
Cornstarch Baby Powder

HOW TO

STEP 1

I found a small piece of broad cloth and ironed it out so its perfectly smooth

STEP 2

Next I measured out the dimensions for the bag and drew a 6" x 3" rectangle onto the back of the fabric and cut it out.  I folded it in half with right sides together and pressed the crease with my iron.

STEP 3

After adding a couple of pins to keep the edges in place I used my sewing machine to stitch around 3 sides including the folded edge.

I clipped the corners off the 2 corners of the folded stitched end so that they would lay smoothly when turned right side out.

STEP 4

Turning the bag right side out,  I folded the top down about 1cm and prepared to fill the bag with Cornstarch Baby Powder I bought for this project.

STEP 5

The baby powder proved to make quite a mess when I tried to squirt it into the bag so I grabbed a small plastic cup and added the baby powder to the cup and then just dumped it in to the bag.  I didn't measure it out but it was likely a couple of TBSP's that ended up in the bag.

LAST STEP

With the baby powder inside, I folded the opening inside of the bag about a 1/4 inch,  then stitched the bag closed.  Now this bag can be rubbed on to the surface before embossing or using for a shaker window to prevent the static mess.

I hope this helps you out as much as it helped me out!  Let me know in the comments if there are any other crafting scenarios where an anti-static bag like this would come in handy.

Til next time.....happy crafting!
Lizzy xo

Be my valentine....

For my Be my valentine card I used the Digi Stamp Creepy Cute Big Eye Girl Hadley & Her Pet Cloud Img 110. Only I used her without the cloud. I colored her with my Triblend markers in the colors Fair Skin for her skin, Tan blend/shades for her hair and the Jade Green Blend/Shades for her clothing/shoes/bow, Dull green blend for her eyes.
Sentiment stamp is an old one from my craftstash and heart is made with a spellbinder heart die and a crafter's companion A6 embossing folder colored with the Harmony water reactive inkpads and some glossy accents here and there.

I hope you like my turn on the smiling Hadley.

Idiot relief - Bonehead Valentine

Hi!

One more Friday I bring you a quick and very simple card using the CCC89 that you will receive today in your emails, Idiot relief - Bonehead Valentine, and that I have accompanied with the images #101 Digi StampCreepy Cute Big Eye Punk Girl Tanith and #523 Digital Stamp Creepy Cute Caféwith crow, ghosts and bats.

I started printing the resized images, so that the coffee shop was amplified and the girl and the freebie bottles were at a size that I liked.

I colored them with my alcohol markers and cut out.

Finally I hit them forming the scene of the girl sitting in the front of the store with bottles of remedy against idiocy beside her.

As a final detail, I used a part of the feeling of the freebie, always in its Premium version, cut to the edge of the letters, to accompany the scene.

This is the result. I hope you like and inspire. Remember to share your work with the hashtag #creepycutechronicles and that you can use the discount code DTIRENE10 in the Oddball store

See you

Magic Love by Sabrina - MONTHLY EXCLUSIVES COMPLETE 2019 SET Creepy Cute Chronicles

Hello beautiful girls of OddBall!
Today writing my post was tiring ... it's been three days since my Mac didn't collaborate ... it didn't download images, it turned off and it didn't start again ... you can understand my terror and yet ... here I am keeping you company. .. with the right manners you get everything LOL!

Going crazy the Mac also went crazy inserting images for prints, but I must admit that it was a pleasure, because among the few files that opened me there was a digi BREATHTAKING CCC Premium February Exclusive that I loved so much and so I decided to dedicate myself to him!

I colored BREATHTAKING CCC Premium February Exclusive 2019 with Copic trying to reproduce a bottle with love elixir as realistic as possible ... because you know ... love is magic!

I strongly believe in magic, both through stratagems and thanks to the power of LOL conviction!

I printed BREATHTAKING CCC Premium February Exclusive 2019 on Copic smooth paper and I applied a glittery gel pen and some stamps; later I assembled the card by gluing BREATHTAKING CCC Premium February Exclusive 2019 on black cardboard and under gauze, I then cut out some cards for the base ... and my magic potion is ready!

I remind you that you can buy the digi 2019 exclusive package at the following link ( MONTHLY EXCLUSIVES COMPLETE 2019 SET Creepy Cute Chronicles) at an amazing price !!!!

Whimsical Falling for You Girl Breezy Set

Hello! I am happy to be on the blog today with a card using

Whimsical Falling for You Girl Breezy Set #125.

I love layers and different textures in my cardmaking. The first layer I blended Distress Oxides in Tumbled Glass and Broken China. I used a stencil and blended Distress Oxides in Milled Lavender and Spun Sugar. I then sprinkled a few drops of water to add texture.

I coloured the images with Arteza Everblend alcohol markers. I like that the marker has a small nib. Great for details. I popped up some of the images with foam squares. The final touch I added shimmer with Wink of Stella.

If you enjoy this project check out my other work on my Blog   or Instagram @rightbrainart.

Age of Aquarius

IMG_E8586
Hey Oddballs!  It's EK.  Have you ever seen the Zodiac Signs digital stamps from Oddball Art?  I am not really a zodiac person, but I am obsessing about the digital stamps that Lizzy Love has draw!  They are frankly perfect!

So since I am frankly drooling over the images, I thought I would go ahead and feature them.  I am leaping off with Aquarius since we are in the Age of Aquarius (and will back track to Capricorn at some point).

IMG_E8587
I colored up the IMG496 12 Odd Oracles- Aquarius  with my copics and layered it on top of several coordinating papers.  I also gave a clear layer of Nuvo drops over all the ribbons to add to the water feel of the card!

Let us know in the comments below if you are digging this odd look at zodiac signs as much as I am!  Until then, Happy crafting!

Big Eye Princess Leia Star Wars Tribute

Hi

Today I bring you a new inspiration card for the Oddballblog

This is a variation of the technique that I used in my last contribution, where I use, instead of watercolor markers, distress ink to make the background

In this case I used the little picture img# 301 Big Eye Princess Leia Star Wars Tribute, colored with my alcohol markers, to make this card that both serves to add a gift (as tickets to see the last movie in the saga! Ufff!!! How sad!!!), to congratulate on a birthday, an anniversary... or whatever you want, since the hand-painted feeling directly on the background allows you to complete it with whatever you want.

To this card I have added a few sequins to give even more light to that spatial background.

I hope you like it and inspire you. Remember to use the hashtag #creepycutechronicles to share your work and that you have at your disposal the discount code DTIRENE10 to use in the Oddball store.

See you soon!

Too Many Other Options

IMG_E8503
Hey Friends!  It's EK and today I am popping back to my roots and going old school.  When I started down the art/crafting path many years ago, the only watercolors I owned for the longest time were Distress Inks.  Now I own high quality watercolors, watercolor pencils, watercolor markers, hybrid watercolors and so much more.  I have abandoned my first watercolors basically at this point, so I thought it might be fun to pull them back out.

I pulled an oldie but goodie digital stamp from Oddball Art to play around with, IMG 113 Bad Girls Have More Fun.  I printed the image out onto some watercolor paper, and painted it up using a collection of Distress Inks.  The jeans were colored with Faded Jeans, the sweatshirt with Dusty concord, and her skin tone with both Tattered Rose and Brushed Corduroy.

IMG_E8504
I fussy cut out both the image and the sentiment, then layered on some printed paper, trying to keep the background both interesting and simple (always a hard feat).  Finally I added a little detailing with a pen and a few drops of Nuvo.
