Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Moos with Suzi

Good Morning All, Today I'd like to share with you my creations for this months blog challenge.
Our theme is Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie, so I decided to create some minature art pieces.

I thought i'd create something i've not done in a good few years, Moos
 A Moo is a little card sized 2.8 x 7 centimeters, or approximately 1.1 x 2.8 inches. I can't find anything about where they originated from, I remember seeing them online a few years ago, but very little about them since. There appears to be one challenge blog that mentions them, but other than that they are a bit of a mystery!

They are a similar size to microscope slides, so maybe the inspiration came from there, but i don't know.
What I do know is they are great fun to create.

They are perfect for using smaller images, so I thought i'd use some of the little cuties that often accompany the beautiful Big Eye Girls that you find in store.
I used elements from the following images;

All of these cute images are coloured with Alcohol Markers, Jave Davenport Paint Pens, and Black Fineliner.

Creeping in the Cemetery with Suzi

Hello All,
Today it is my pleasure to share with you my latest creation in my large Art Journal.  I've used one of my favourite spooky images by Lizzy, the wonderful 'Bride of Frankenstein'

My background was covered with Black Gesso, then I added some patches of colour with my Gelatos, before adding the main image.  The Bride of Frankenstein is coloured with Alcohol Markers and Faber-Castell PITT Pens.  I Sketched my background scene in with Derwent Inktense Pencil, then added a little water to soften the lines; I then added all the dark details and shadows in with the Faber-Castell PITT Pens.  To finish the page I went around the edges of the page with a dark PITT Pen.

That's all from me for now, Don't forget you still have lots of time to join in our 'Cemetries' themed challenge.

Bye for now

Happy Star Wars Day with Suzi

It is my pleasure to be here with you all today to celebrate May 4th, which is of course 'Star Wars Day'.  If you didn't know already, you now know that I am a Sci-fi fan, not sure if that makes me a Geek or a Nerd!  Anyway today  I'm sharing with you a project featuring 'Crissy Goes to A Costume Party #301' which is a wonderful tribute image to Princess Leia;

My project is an Altered Index Card, and is 6 x 4 inch, so a lovely size to work on. The image is coloured with Alcohol Markers, with a little white gel pen for highlights.

For the background I coloured the Index Card with Alcohol Markers in various shades of Purple, Orange, Yellow, and Green.  Once the card had soaked up all the ink/alcohol and dried, I spray white and yellow Inks onto it to represent stars.

As a finishing touch I added some Alphabet Sticker for my sentiment.

I had great fun with project, and plan on creating lots more Altered Index Cards, they are great fun, we'd love it if you share your creations with us.  Don't forget you've still time to join in our challenge here on the blog, and remember the theme is optional now, so you can play along with any new project you have.

Thanks for visiting with us today
May the force be with you

New Release - Baby Elephant Kisses with Suzi

Today it's my pleasure to share with you my project featuring the gorgeous Baby Elephant Kisses image #375,

I had a real blast colouring this super cool beauty, with her adorable little elephant.  I used ProMarkers to colour my image with the addition of a little white gel pen for highlights.

I had fun with the textures for the background of this project, using yellow felt, turquoise sequinella and a bright pink wired net ribbon.  To finish it all off I used this gorgeous bright pink picture frame i've been hoarding for a while.

I hope you like my take on this image, scroll down to see more examples of ways to colour this beauty.

A Little Inspiration from Suzi

Hello My fellow Oddballer's, today I'd like to share with you a very quick tutorial and card featuring one of the latest new release images.

I couldn't resist using the adorable Hudson image#363, he is such a cutie.  I wanted to try something a little different when colouring his outfit, so I decide to give him a plaid shirt.

I chose 4 different colours of Alcohol Pens , for this project I used Letraset Promarkers and Tria Markers.  I created the pattern using a layer of lines for each colour, here are a couple of pictures of my practice sheet, to give you the idea;
As you can see the pattern builds up really quickly.  Once I was happy with my pattern, I used the same technique to colour Hudson's shirt;
Once I'd got the pattern onto Hudson's shirt, I added some shading using Neutral Grey markers.  I added some more colour to the pattern once I'd coloured the rest of the image, just to make his shirt stand out a little more.  I then added some highlights with white gel pen.

For the rest of my project, I took patterned papers from a coordinate pack and layered them onto a white card blank.  I trimmed my image and stamped the sentiment, before adding some hand doodles borders to all my papers.

I added my image to a patterned paper before adding it to my card with some dimensional foam pads to add a little depth to the card.

That's all from me for today
Bye for now
