I've Got It All Together

Hey Oddballs!  It's EK from ekgorman designs and I am sneaking into let you know I've got a new coloring video up.

Today I am playing around with the digital stamp IMG81 Witch Sassy & Sissy Cat and some black cardstock.  Did you know that you can print your digital stamps onto black cardstock?  That's right, you can!

Today I am using my new colored pencils to really make this image pop out on some dark cardstock.

To help everyone see how I this process of coloring on dark cardstock works, I went ahead and whipped up a little video sharing my coloring techniques.  To pop over to my channel and see the video in HD, click here.

Thanks for popping in today and checking out my project.  Make sure if you play around with some dark cardstock that you share your projects with Lizzy and the team over on the Facebook!

Happiness is...

Hey Oddballs!  It's EK from ekgorman designs, sneaking in today to share a little CAS card I created using my favorite colored pencils.

Today I am playing around with IMG19 Camper Girl Cassidy from the Big Eyed girl collection.

For today's project I pulled out, like I said my favorite colored pencil set, the Derwent Drawing pencils.  Now I own some five different brand of colored pencils, but despite its limited color range, these are my favorite.  These colors are really soft and in a wide range of natural and sepia tones.  Needless to say, their limited color range is perfect for a clean and simple card.

I additionally added a fun sentiment added in some denim blue ink, to add to the sweet mischief look on Cassidy's face.  The card got adhered onto a Kraft A2 card frame.

Do you play around with different brands of colored pencils?  What is your favorite?  And what Oddball digital stamp is your favorite to color with your pencils?

Be Original

Hey Oddballs!  It's EK from ekgorman designs and I am slipping in today with a card I colored using some creative coloring.

Today I am playing around with the Oddball digital art IMG185 Batzilla and my color wheel to create a truly colorful card.

Not only did I pull out my copic markers today, but I pulled my pocket color wheel.  I wanted to play around with the skin tone on Batzilla, and venture into something a little different and fun.  Using my color wheel I decided on using a Tetrad of color, or four colors even spaced out.  I decided that violet skin might be fun, so jumped off with that color.  Lining up my wheel, I discovered the three other colors, red (which turned out too orange), yellow and green, would compliment everything.

The background got a couple more colors to fill in the blank space and give the card a bit of visual interest.  Also the card got a Tim Holtz sticker sentiment to finish off the card.

I am just loving all the color on my project today.  Do you ever use a color wheel to help come up with the color scheme of your project?  Make sure you share your projects over on the Oddball Art Facebook Gallery.

Rawr!!!

Hey Oddballs!  Design Team Member, EK here today to share a little clean and simple card making.

One of the things I love most about Oddball Art is that the digital stamps stand on their own, and do not need all the bells and whistles to make a project that is special.  Just a couple of coloring pens or pencils and the digital stamps are enough to make a stunning project.

Today, I am proving that theory with the super cute (and one of the original) digi IMG16 Big Eye Girl In Monster Hood Teddy.

This image always reminds me a little with Mike and Sully (from Monsters), so I colored her up using a combination of teal blues and lime greens using my copics.  The teal shades were created with BG07, BG18 and BG78.  The lime tones were created with YG21, YG13 and YG06.

Yes, I ended up using a little bit of a line green matting, and a couple of green stickles, but the rest of the card is just the digital image colored.
